“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name. Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
July 1: Bogusław, Halina, Klarysa, Marian, Layth, Niegosława
July 2: Maria, Piotr
July 3: Jacek, Leon, Miłosław
July 4: Elżbieta, Józef, Julian, Teodor, Wielisław
July 5: Antoni, Bartłomiej, Jakub, Karolina, Michał
July 6: Chociebor, Dominik, Dominika, Łucja, Lucja, Niegosław

PAINTING UPDATE: When you receive this bulletin, the interior painting of the church will be almost complete. The team from Our Neighbourhood Painters Ltd. (led by Mr. Jeff Peach) has taken this work very seriously and has put in very long hours this week. They understood the sacred, historic character and qualities of our church. There was a great deal of helpful input from parishioners about colour tones – and we hope you will like the result. Thank you to the choir members for recommending we bring in a professional interior decorator to try to get it just right. Jean Brown of Jean Brown Interiors was meticulous in her work.

A PRAYER FOR CANADA AND ITS LEADERS, adapted from a similar prayer in Poland: Wszechmogący, wieczny Boże, spuść nam szeroką i głęboką miłość ku braciom i siostrom najmilszej Matce, Ojczyźnie naszej, byśmy jej i ludowi Twemu, swoich pożytków zapomniawszy, mogli służyć uczciwie. Ześlij Ducha Świętego na sługi Twoje, rządy kraju naszego sprawujące, by wedle woli Twojej ludem sobie powierzonym mądrze i sprawiedliwie zdołali kierować. Przez Chrystusa, Pana naszego. Amen.
Almighty and eternal God, inspired by our Blessed Mother, may we love all our brothers and sisters and our country. May we serve our country honestly and conscientiously. Send forth Your Holy Spirit upon Your servants who govern the country. May they aid your people according to the public good and Your will, and may they decide justly and wisely. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Wishing you a blessed week! Bóg zapłać!

FIRST VERSE OF TODAY’S OPENING HYMN:
Błogi czas nam teraz świeci, o Jezu kochany,
W którym możem czcić Cię w sposób przez Ciebie wybrany,
O, niech dojdzie głos nasz Ciebie,
Niechaj serce Twoje w niebie
Przyjmie cześć,
Którą grzeszni, lecz skruszeni,
U nóg Twoich ukorzeni,
Chcemy nieść, chcemy nieść.
