TRANSLATION OF TODAY'S SECOND READING FROM 1 TIMOTHY: But you, man of God, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Compete well for the faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who gave testimony under Pontius Pilate for the noble confession, to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ that the blessed and only ruler will make manifest at the proper time, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, and whom no human being has seen or can see. To him be honour and eternal power. Amen
MODLITWA DO ŚWIĘTEGO MICHAŁA/PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL: Until 1964, this prayer, popularized by Pope Leo XIII in 1886, was commonly recited at the end of Mass. In 1994, St. Pope John Paul II affirmed its continuing value. The imagery evoked in the prayer is not to be understood as violent, for Christians are called to be people of peace and to be role models of charity and love. In this prayer, we are asking for spiritual perseverance, for resistance against temptation and selfish desire, and for stoic determination in our sacred mission in the world.
Święty Michale Archaniele, wspomagaj nas w walce, a przeciw niegodziwości i zasadzkom złego ducha bądź naszą obroną. Oby go Bóg pogromić raczył, pokornie o to prosimy, a Ty, Wodzu niebieskich zastępów, szatana i inne duchy złe, które na zgubę dusz ludzkich po tym świecie krążą, mocą Bożą strąć do piekła. Amen.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
NOTES: The name “Michael” means “who is like God.” A 1970 revision of the Roman calendar joined the feasts of Gabriel and Raphael to that of Michael.
“The true face of love is mercy. Practicing it, we become a disciple of Jesus and the heart of the Father shows itself” --A recent message from Pope Francis on Twitter

DRAFT OF RESOLUTION TO DECLARE THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS POLISH HERITAGE MONTH IN NOVA SCOTIA
As a result of discussions and recommendations in recent months, MLA/Minister Derek Mombourquette will be introducing a resolution in the House of Assembly to proclaim September of every year as Polish Heritage Month in Nova Scotia.
Staff in the province’s Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage are working with us on the wording. Here is an initial draft. Feedback is welcomed (902-563-1226; tom_urbaniak@cbu.ca). Please note that staff are constrained in that there can be only three Whereas clauses as per the usual format:
WHEREAS Polish Nova Scotians continue to make significant cultural, economic, creative, and social contributions to our diverse province;
WHEREAS distinctive Polish Nova Scotian identities and communities have formed over several generations, enriched through mutual sharing with other communities, and strengthened by the presence of historic landmarks and contemporary cultural symbols developed by Polish Nova Scotians;
WHEREAS the month of September holds significance for Polish Nova Scotians, including the anniversaries of the founding of the St. Michael’s Polish Association and Benefit Society (1909) and St. Mary’s Polish Parish (1913), both in Cape Breton, as well as the commemoration of Polish immigration through Pier 21 in Halifax.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED all members of this House of Assembly henceforth recognize the month of September of each year to be Polish Heritage Month in the Province of Nova Scotia.
