In keeping with the Polish custom, we’ll be decorating palms for Palm Sunday. Actually, they will be willows as per Polish tradition. We’d be delighted to get everyone involved – and bring a friend! Free desserts and refreshments. We’ll also talk about the Polish customs for Palm Sunday and Holy Week. It will be hands-on, educational, fun, and will bring together faith and culture.
DONOR WALL TEMPLATE: We now have a miniature draft sample template provided by Brown’s Cresting. It’s on one of the tables in Sala 1050 – please feel free to have a look. It gives a rough idea (feedback/corrections welcomed: 902-563-1226; tom_urbaniak@cbu.ca). Please note it is a miniature: the actual version will take up much of the wall between the library and the side entrance door. In the actual formatting, the first and last names will be together (without a big gap), and we’re open to using additional photos. A lighter colour might also be appropriate, but, again, feedback is welcomed!
APPOINTMENTS WITH POLISH CONSUL: Consul Michał Faleńczyk will be here next Sunday. For an individual appointment about any Polish government service (eg. Polish passport), please email him at michal.falenczyk@msz.gov.pl
TRANSLATION OF TODAY’S SECOND READING (FROM PAUL’S LETTER TO THE CORINTHIANS): I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea, and all of them were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. All ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was the Christ. Yet God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the desert. These things happened as examples for us, so that we might not desire evil things, as they did. Do not grumble as some of them did, and suffered death by the destroyer. These things happened to them as an example, and they have been written down as a warning to us, upon whom the end of the ages has come. Therefore, whoever thinks he is standing secure should take care not to fall.
