OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS
FATHER RICH REPORTS:
Niech Bedzie Pochwalony Jezus Chrystus! Praise be Jesus Christ!
Dear Parishioners & Friends:
As we begin the month of February this week, we will have several important celebrations and observances in our church This Friday (February 2) besides being the 1st Friday of the month (devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus) we will have the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. This event 40 days after the Nativity of the Lord, commemorates the Jewish tradition of bringing a newborn child into the temple as a form of dedication of the child. In Polish tradition, it is more commonly called “Matki Boskiej Gromnicznej” (Our Lady of the Candles) and marks the end of the Christmas season. I have asked the choir to sing as we have a grand finale to Christmas with singing of “kolędy”(carols). The next day (Saturday, February 3rd) we honour the memory of Saint Blaise Bishop and Martyr with the blessing of throats at Mass. We will have the traditional blessing of throats after both Sunday Masses as well. The beginning of the holy season of Lent will be on Ash Wednesday, February 14th. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstinence. The climax of our church calendar year will be the celebration of the Paschal Mysteries (Easter) on Sunday, April 1st.

We are now just a few weeks from starting the next and final phase of construction.
COMMUNITY MEALS FOCUS GROUP: This past Tuesday, 25 people from various faith communities and organizations were here for lunch in Sala 1050. This was a focus group on restoring the Pier weekly community meals (Loaves and Fishes satellite service -- formerly at Trinity United Church, before Trinity closed). There was a lot of practical advice. An inter-faith steering committee will now take the planning forward. For more information or to be involved in any way, please call 902-563-1226.

This colouring book will be a guide to both visitors and residents. Feedback and suggestions are kindly encouraged. There is a copy of this insert on the bulletin board near the main entrance.
