FATHER RICH REPORTS:

Niech Bedzie Pochwalony Jezus Chrystus! Praise be Jesus Christ!
Dear Parishioners and Friends,                  
The liturgy of the Word for this Sunday is a very strong message from God our creator, that demands of us the willingness and following through on practicing of forgiveness upon others.
Our life long parishioner, Annie Teresa Schella (age 95) passed away suddenly but peacefully last Saturday evening. Our church was overflowing with family, relatives, former neighbours, friends and our own parishioners to pay tribute to her life and assist her with our prayers. Robert (her son) and all the family wish to thank all for Mass cards and donations to the Rebuilding Fund in her loving memory and all those who prepared the lunch reception after.

SLAVIC HERITAGE FESTIVAL: We have a preliminary report of income and expenses for the 2017 Whitney Pier Slavic Heritage Festival that was prepared by Wayne Joseph. Total income was $13,238.70. Expenses were $3,902.35, Net income was $9,336.35. A debriefing meeting concerning the division of grant money will take place this week and we should know exact figures soon.

PARISH RADA: Last Wednesday, the Parish Rada met informally as there was not a quorum. Agenda discussion included the festival financial report, library project, future planning including the securing of a priest for next July, and issues with the church doors.
 
PREP (Parish Religious Education Program) 2017-2018: As our children return to school after Labour Day, we need to plan on how to have a successful catechism and religious education program that will have maximum participation of our children. There will be a meeting for all parents of school age children to discuss and set a day and time for the classes next Sunday, September 24th after the 10:00am Mass.

POLISH DANCE PRACTICE: Sheri McKay will resume Polish dance practice for all interested on Sundays after Mass in Sala 1050. Today’s step will be the Kujawiak

FALL DANCE AT THE POLISH VILLAGE HALL: This coming Saturday, September 23rd there will be a dance from 9:00pm to 12:00 Midnight. DJ Jimmy MacKinnon will provide the music. Admission is free, but tickets should be picked up after Mass today in Sala 1050. This will be an opportunity to see the renovated lower hall of the Polish Village.
