“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name. Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
June 19: Julianna
June 20: Franciszek, Michał, Rafaela, Rafał
June 21: Alicja, Domamir, Marta, Teodor
June 22: Paulina
June 23: Józef, Piotr, Wanda, Zenon
June 24: Dan, Danisz, Danuta, Emilia, Jan

JOLA CEBULA’S CLASSICAL VIOLIN CONCERT: Sunday, June 26, 2 p.m., Polish Village Hall
FROM VATICAN STATEMENT LAST SUNDAY: The terrible massacre that has taken place in Orlando, with its dreadfully high number of innocent victims, has caused in Pope Francis, and in all of us, the deepest feelings of horror and condemnation, of pain and turmoil before this new manifestation of homicidal folly and senseless hatred. Pope Francis joins the families of the victims and all of the injured in prayer and in compassion. Sharing in their indescribable suffering he entrusts them to the Lord so they may find comfort. We all hope that ways may be found, as soon as possible, to effectively identify and contrast the causes of such terrible and absurd violence which so deeply upsets the desire for peace of the American people and of the whole of humanity.
TRANSLATION OF TODAY’S SECOND READING: Brothers and sisters:
Through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ
have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free person, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if you belong to Christ,
then you are Abraham’s children, heirs according to the promise.
