Święta Epifanii / Feast of the Epiphany
January 6th -- Epiphany -- is a holiday in Poland, and there are many parades and carolling on this day as people re-enact the journey of the Magi.
A common prayer when inscribing K+M+B in blessed chalk above a doorway in your home on the Feast of the Epiphany: "Panie Jezu Chryste, którego Trzej Mędrcy jako Dziecię znaleźli w domu i złożyli mu hołd, który wzrastałeś w domu w Nazarecie przy boku Maryi i św. Józefa, uświęć i nasz dom swoją obecnością. Niech panuje w nim Twoja miłość, dobroć i czystość. Niech wszyscy tworzymy domowy kościół, który w tym sanktuarium niech stale składa Ci uwielbienie i chwałę. Niech święte symbole, które znaczymy na drzwiach tego sanktuarium, przypominają nam i tym, którzy będą nas odwiedzać, że jesteśmy domowym kościołem i za gwiazdą wiary chcemy iść na spotkanie z Tobą do domu naszego wspólnego Ojca, który w jedności Ducha żyjesz i królujesz. Amen.”
“Lord Jesus Christ, discovered by the Magi and uprooted from your home, alongside Mary and Joseph, sanctify our home with your presence. Let our home be one of love, goodness, and purity. Let it be a sanctuary, giving you worship and praise. Let these sacred symbols on our doorway remind us of your presence and be a star of faith leading us to the home of our Common Father, through the holy spirit, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.”
Eucharistic Minister for today: Janet Hawthorne
Ushers for collection today: Joe Gillis, Robert Melski Jr.

“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name. Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
January 3: Danuta, Piotr
January 4: Angelika, Aniela, Dobromir, Eugeniusz, Grzegorz, Izabela
January 5: Edward, Emilian, Hanna, Szymon
January 6: Andrzej, Bolemir, Kacper, Kasper
January 7: Julian, Lucjan, Walenty
