“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name. Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
January 25: Paweł, Tatiana, Maleszka
January 26: Paula, Paulina, Wanda
January 27: Angelika, Ilona, Julian
January 28: Agnieszka, Augustyn, Julian, Karol, Piotr, Radomir
January 29: Hanna, Walerian, Zdzisław

PREPARING FOR THE 2015 SHARE LENT CAMPAIGN:
Theme: Sow Much Love to Give
Our parish was represented yesterday at a workshop to prepare for the 2015 Share Lent campaign. It’s in support of Development and Peace (the Canadian Catholic international development organization). The theme focuses on agriculture and communities without enough to eat. Development and Peace partners with experienced local organizations in the global south. One example is communities in the Philippines developing collective gardens after everything in their region was destroyed by Typhoon Yolanda. We’ll have more resources for our parish in the weeks ahead, including a Lent calendar for youth members of our parish, suggesting an activity of solidarity for each day. More at www.devp.org
THE RENOVATED AND REFURBISHED POLISH VILLAGE HALL is a comfortable, well appointed, modernized venue for events large and small. Please consider renting the hall for your events. Please call 564-8494.
PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR ON-LINE “VIRTUAL TOUR” AND AN 8.5 MINUTE PARISH WELCOME VIDEO ON OUR WEBSITE: www.stmaryspolishparish.ca
Wishing you a blessed week! Bóg zapłać!
