OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

FATHER RICH REPORTS:
Chrystus Zmartwychwstal! Christ is Risen!

Dear Parishioners and friends of Saint Mary’s:

I wish to thank the many very dedicated parishioners who have made our Holy week and Easter, a most beautiful and meaningful celebration. I want to thank the twelve men of the parish who represented the twelve apostles who kindly accepted the invitation to the “Last Supper” meal at the Glebe and then participated in the Holy Thursday Mass as well as the three women who assisted at the meal. I want to thank our organist and choir members who rehearsed several hours to prepare the music program. I thank all the decorators who helped prepare the altars, tomb and sanctuary for this holy season. I also want to thank all lectors, ushers, altar servers and the youth who prepared and delivered the special Easter baskets for our homebound. I thank all who contributed and made memorial gifts to the Easter flower fund. May God bless and reward you all! This Friday I will be flying to Boston and on to Portland, Maine as the Diocese of Portland has invited me to minister to the Polish parish of St. Louis for Divine Mercy Sunday and conduct Polish as well as English services for the cluster parishes of Portland. In my place, we will welcome as guest celebrants of Mass: Friday: Fr. Alex McLellan, Sunday 10 a.m. Fr. Tom Lathigee and 4p.m. Fr. Roman Dusanowskyj.

May all enjoy Easter Sunday with family and friends rejoicing that Jesus has risen indeed! Wesolego Alleluja! Chrystus Zmartwychwastal!

MOTHER'S DAY HIGH TEA: Join us for the "Tadeusz Tea", a unique blend of Polish and British traditions. Wear your finest hats. Enjoy Polish and British desserts. Our servers will be characters from "Pan Tadeusz", the epic poem by Adam Mickiewicz about love and intrigue in two noble families. This event builds on the success of our past teas in the "Downton Abbey" style. This fund-raiser will be held on Sunday, May 7th, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Polish Village Hall. Tickets are $15.00 and are available from Nicole Baker (902) 371-5088. Proceeds to support Phase 2 of the rebuilding of St. Mary's Polish Church.

ŚWIĘCONKA: Our parish “Święconka” meal will take place on Sunday, April 30th after the 10 am Mass in our Sala 1050. This will take the place of our first Sunday of the month potluck. We will list the names in next week’s bulletin of those asked to bring a dish. We will want to feature our more traditional Easter dishes such as  eggs, ham and kielbasa. Father Rich hopes to hit one or more Polish stores in the Boston and Portland area to bring back Polish styled desserts such as “babka” and “makowiec” (poppy seed rolls). Please plan to attend!
