“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name.  Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
June 7: Antoni,  Paweł, Robert
June 8: Maksym, Seweryn
June 9: Felicjan
June 10: Bogumił, Edgar
June 11: Feliks
June 12: Antonina, Jan, Leon
June 13: Antoni, Lucjan, Maria Magdalena
June 14: Eliza, Justyn, Justyna

OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

Uroczystość Najświętszego Ciała i Krwi Pańskiej / Corpus Christi: The whole Church marks Corpus Christi, emphasizing the joy of the institution of the Eucharist. In Poland, it has special significance as a major religious and public holiday. The first Corpus Christi procession was held in 1320 in Krakow, and colourful processions with the Blessed Sacrament and various temporary altars are now held in every city and town in the country.  These are public manifestations of faith. During times of occupation and later during the Communist period, the faithful sometimes took great personal risks to participate in Boże Ciało ceremonies.

DZIEKUJEMY: Thank you, everyone, for your participation in last Sunday’s Annual General Meeting of our parish.  Thank you as well to everyone who helped with lunch and everyone who brought a donation to Loaves and Fishes. Also, a big thank you to everyone who has been helping with the pierogi-making fund-raiser!

THANK YOU to all our parishioners who attended the burial service for Father Jim MacLean in Bay St. Lawrence.

THANK YOU to Frank Starzomski, who responded to the call for volunteers to represent our parish on the board of Resurrection Cemetery.

NEXT SUNDAY - AFTER MASS - WEATHER PERMITTING: Planting of flowers at the site of the soon-to-be completed kapliczka/Kolonia Immigrant Heritage Parkette (at the bottom of Bryan St.). Everyone is welcome. Thanks to Krista Ann Starzomski, youth education coordinator.

Launch of “The Pier” board game (inter-faith committee, Habitat for Humanity) is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, at 4 p.m. at the Polish Village Hall.

A SUMMER CONCERT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR OUR REBUILDING – Ephraim Scott Presbyterian Church in South Haven (Victoria County) holds a beautiful concert of choirs and musicians twice a year. They have decided to dedicate their next concert to the rebuilding of St. Mary’s Polish Church and will raise funds for us at the event. It will take place on Sunday, July 5, at 6:30 p.m. It would be wonderful if many of our parishioners could attend to show our friendship and appreciation. From Rev. Brian MacLeod: “Please relay our prayers to your great church.” Our choir will be part of this concert.

RECENT “IMO” (in memory of) CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE (RE-)BUILDING FUND:
IMO Ted Baker from Robert Rudderham and Elizabeth White; Russell Baker
IMO Teddy Paruch from the Barrington children
IMO and in honour of Polish friends from Walter & Kaye Ingraham

A SPECIAL REQUEST: We are still inviting everyone to please share names (and, if possible, addresses) of everyone who should receive a direct, personalized fund-raising appeal letter for the capital campaign for the rebuilding of our church. Please give these to Patrica Paruch (Rada Secretary) or Stephanie Black (Fund-raising Convenor). Many thanks.

TO CONTRIBUTE ON-LINE TO OUR REBUILDING, PLEASE GO TO OUR PARISH WEB HOME PAGE (www.stmaryspolishparish.ca) and please click the link to our Canada Helps donation page. It’s a secure system and you’ll receive your charitable tax receipt promptly. Thanks for your support! Please spread the word.

New “IMO” (Building Fund) cards and envelopes have been printed and are at the back of the church.

REBUILDING FUND CONTRIBUTIONS: Building Fund contributions will go toward the new church. To contribute to the rebuilding if you do not have an envelope, you can also write on your regular envelope or cheque “Designated to the Rebuilding of St. Mary’s Polish Church.”

THE RENOVATED AND REFURBISHED POLISH VILLAGE HALL is a comfortable, well appointed, modernized venue for events large and small. Please consider renting the hall for your events. Please call 564-8494.

OPENING HYMN – BOŻE CIAŁO – Corpus Christi Sunday:
Błogi czas nam teraz świeci, o Jezu kochany,
W którym możem czcić Cię w sposób przez Ciebie wybrany,
O, niech dojdzie głos nasz Ciebie,
Niechaj serce Twoje w niebie
Przyjmie cześć,
Którą grzeszni, lecz skruszeni,
U nóg Twoich ukorzeni,
Chcemy nieść, chcemy nieść.

2. Przyjm łaskawie od sług Twoich, o najsłodszy Panie,
Przyjmij ku czci Serca Twego to nasze śpiewanie;
Schyl swe Serce ku tej ziemi,
Miłosierdziem nad grzesznymi
Błysnąć chciej, błysnąć chciej,
I obfite łaski zdroje
Na te biedne sługi Twoje,
Panie zlej, Panie zlej.

3. Twoje Serce miłosierne, niech smutnych pocieszy,
Niechaj upadłych podźwignie, występnych rozgrzeszy;
Niechaj słońce Twej miłości
Spali wszystkie nasze złości;
Jezu daj, Jezu daj,
Byśmy Serce Twe kochali,
Przez to Serce pozyskali
Niebios kraj, niebios kraj.

COMMUNION HYMN:
Bądźże pozdrowiona, Hostyjo żywa,
W której Jezus Chrystus Bóstwo ukrywa!
Ref.:  Witaj Jezu, Synu Maryi,
Tyś jest Bóg prawdziwy w świętej Hostyi!

2. Bądźże pozdrowione, drzewo żywota!  Niech kwitnie niewinność, anielska cnota.

3. Bądźże pozdrowiony, Baranku Boży, /Zbaw nas, gdy miecz Pański na złych się sroży!

POST-COMMUNION HYMN:
Święty Boże, Święty Mocny, – Święty, a Nieśmiertelny; – zmiłuj się nad nami. /x3
1. Od powietrza, głodu, ognia i wojny, – wybaw nas Panie.
2. Od nagłej, a niespodziewanej śmierci, – zachowaj nas Panie.
3. My grzeszni Ciebie Boga prosimy: – wysłuchaj nas Panie.

CLOSING HYMN:
Ciebie Boże chwalimy,
Ciebie, Stwórcę wszechmocnego.
Ze wszystkich sił wielbimy.
Dawco wszystkiego dobrego,
w dobroci nieskończony,
bądź na wieki chwalony.

2. Tobie Anieli w niebie
nucą: Święty, Święty, Święty!
I bez ustanku Ciebie
wielbią, Boże niepojęty!
Chwała Twa, wieczny Panie,
na wieki nie ustanie.
