Uroczystość Wniebowstąpienia Pańskiego / Ascension of the Lord

Wniebowstąpienie Pańskie: FEAST OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD: Today our Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven; let our hearts ascend with him. Listen to the words of the Apostle: If you have risen with Christ, set your hearts on the things that are above where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God; seek the things that are above, not the things that are on earth. For just as he remained with us even after his ascension, so we too are already in heaven with him, even though what is promised us has not yet been fulfilled in our bodies.
-Saint Augustine

TODAY’S MASS INTENTION is for Clara Nelgah MacDonald offered by Shirley Ardelli & family. Wieczny odpoczynek racz Jej dać Panie, a swiatłość wiekuista niechaj Jej świeci na wieki wieków. Amen

The Vigil Candle this week is for the Holy Father’s prayer intention for today’s World Communications Day –  for the family: a privileged place of encounter with the gift of love. Po polsku: “o rodzinie jako uprzywilejowanym miejscu spotkania w bezinteresownej miłości.”

Eucharistic Minister for today: Frank Starzomski

Ushers for collection today: Michael Melski, Larry Gniewek

“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name.  Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
May 17: Bruno, Weronika, Wiktor
May 18: Aleksander, Aleksandra, Alicja, Edwin, Eryk, Eryka, Feliks, Irena
May 19: Augustyn, Celestyn, Mikołaj, Piotr, Timur
May 20: Teodor, Wiktoria
May 21: Donata, Jan, Tymoteusz, Wiktor
May 22: Emil, Helena, Jan, Julia, Ryta
May 23: Budziwoj, Emilia, Iwona, Jan, Michał
