“IMIENINY” (NAME DAYS) FOR THE COMING WEEK. Help to maintain a longstanding Polish Catholic tradition by acknowledging relatives, friends, and colleagues who are celebrating their “name day,” corresponding with the feast day of a saint of the same name.  Where there is more than one saint of the same name who has been assigned a day, your “name day” is the one closest to your birthday. It is customary in the Polish tradition to acknowledge the name day of a relative or friend:
November 2: Bohdana, Małgorzata, Tobiasz
November 3: Bogumił, Cezary, Chwalisław, Hubert, Sylwia
November 4: Karol
November 5: Dalemir, Elżbieta, Florian, Sławomir
November 6: Feliks, Leonard
November 7: Antoni, Florentyn
November 8: Dymitr, Klaudiusz, Seweryn, Wiktor
November 9: Genowefa, Teodor, Ursyn

A SPECIAL PROJECT IN OUR PARISH: OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD (shoebox appeal): Operation Christmas Child provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on project of Samaritan's Purse that focuses on the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus Christ - God's greatest gift. At the back of the church, there are special shoeboxes and a pamphlet with information about what the boxes should contain.  Also, a small donation of $7 for shipping purposes is requested to be put in the envelope attached to the booklet, and placed inside, at the top of the box. If you wish to participate, please take one of the shoeboxes, fill it, and return it to the church on or before Sunday, November 9th. Suzanne Campbell will pick up the boxes and deliver them to the depot in Glace Bay. Please help an economically disadvantaged child enjoy Christmas. Suzanne can be reached at 270-2859. We had a great response last year! Thank you!
